The phone uses a 4.3” 3D WVGA screen which can deliver 1080p 2D videos and 720p 3D content. Its Tri-Dual configuration refers to the dual-core, dual-channel and dual-memory for enhanced multi-tasking, multimedia viewing and games. Of course, Gingerbread fans may be left with a stale taste on the tongue until LG decides to bump the Froyo OS, with which the device is being launched, to Android 2.3.

A 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, a PowerVR SGX540 GPU and a TI OMAP4430 chipset work away at the core of the handset. The company’s ‘full 3D’ concept means users can record, view and share 3D content, all without 3D glasses. Up to 8GB internal memory, 32GB microSD expandability, dual 5MP AF and LED flash-enabled cameras, a 3D hotkey, real-time 2D/3D conversion and 3D video stabilization are among the major features.
The LG Optimus 3D will debut in Europe before sailing for other nations over the next few weeks.
